Today (Thursday) Was Dandy's Birthday!!!

Today was his birthday!! YAY! Too bad I don't actually remember this kind of stuff. Most of what I remember is my imagination being used with all of the pictures I've seen and the stories I've heard over the years. My favorite are the two Grannymo let me have from his birthday when I was a little less than a year because I'm reaching for the cake in one and then I have the icaing on my hand going for my mouth and Dandy has this big grin just laughing at me.
Another momentous thing about today my mother got a Facebook after who knows how long. But whatever she did. AND on her page she wrote this: "Since I joined Facebook on my Grandfather's birthday, I thought I would honor him by posting a picture of him and 'the apple of his eye,' Riley. Boy, would he be proud of her." That made me super happy and I even teared up a bit and kinda am still. I don't exactly really remember him but I do remember him. I'll always have all the stories and pictures that have turned have into memory from their repitition.

Today was also the first day of Journey. I like it so far. I don't know how to really describe what we talked about. But we are doing Cru 102 its the more ministry side of the 2 classes they have (Cru 101 is the fall semester and 102 is the spring semester). Oscar taught or "lead" us today and we watched some video clips and then read some verse and found their comparisons and elaborated on them. And for dinner we had baked potatoes, yummy! I met lots of new people tonight at Journey and Cru, too. They challenged us to not mingle with our friends when Cru was over so I told Claire and Riley to leave without me (since they were going to go to Midnight Rodeo anyway) and then I tagged up with Sal and mingled it all up. And I kinda re-met people I met in Journey since we have nametags at Cru and I was seeing if I could remember their names- if I actually knew what they were in the first place.

Tomorrow is Women's Night OF Mahem!!! YEAH! Beware 'cause this is going to be so awesome. Lots of Apples to Apples and Skip-Bo, Fo' Sho'!!! Not to mention potluck- yay food!

1, 2, 3, 4

I am super happy about the Plain White T's new song "1, 2, 3, 4" it's a good new fit for me. New is good and change is good. Although I've just heard it a couple times the tune is already stuck in my head during the day.

I think it's time for the next step. I've been at the bottom for a while now but I see the hill coming up real soon. The best advice I can say to myself or others is one word: PRAY. He's always listening, the more you talk the more life has the ability to make sense again.

Games, Surpises, and the Word of the Week.

Today Talia's parents planned a surprise visit and funny enough she was here even though she was supposed to be in class... But anyway, we all went to eat at Texas Road House (3rd time in my life- 2 of which were in the last 30 days.) which was fun. I got catfish and and loaded mashed potatos the best combo ever, plus un ensalada (a salad). She went to stay the night with her parents so I just came back to the room and watched The Closer! I'd have to say I feel strongly about that show, in my best efforts to avoid using love even though I do love it.

Side note from earlier in the day- Ms. G is supposed to get back to us about Jack's word of the week. She said on the spot she couldn't remember it but she did know it was one she didn't like. Take for example last week's word: sexy. It's in italics because he says it differently, you know exaggerated. The week before that one his word was random. I like seeing that I'm not the only person in this world who has a word of the week. Creative Drama was completely fun today even when I got thrown off the chairs and out of the circle (twice) in the game "Have You Seen My Goat?" It's like a better advanced version of "Kitty Got A Corner?" that I learned in high school theatre. Both are supremely high on my list of games I actually love and can get into.

Giving the Music Project tomorrow. Let's hope all the first row presentations go smoothely and we all breeze right through them.
