Well today? Oh, what a day!

What a surprisingly magnificent day today was. Just when you think life's got you beat it turns right around and sweeps you off your feet! Ahh, what joy it is to feel this way again. Butterflies floating through the air, the smell of flowers fills my nose, what else can I compare this too? Gosh it was beyond refreshing to experience a day like that when all too many of the ones recently have been quite to the contrary. But despite the lack of these lately I've been able to spread a bit of the happiness I have through a repeated kind gesture to a dear friend, and really who couldn't use a kind-hearted gesture now and then? Anyway, thanks to the lovely abundance of flowers to pick around campus I can continue this journey till they fade out with the changing of the season as it creeps toward the simblance of a Texas winter that we have. At that point it's onto more creative versions of flowers that my mind can create. Mind you I have realized I am a bit excited about this day coming and have already started planning- or plotting you could say.

I still wish I could do more for a certain person. I am going to try. You have no idea the love I'm trying to show you. For now anything you get out of it is perfectly enough for me. Hugs to you.

Happy Banned Books Week 2009

I was on facebook as per usual and I saw some links posted about banned books week. I started meddling around to see what all book were on there and what people had to say about it. I like to look from time to time and see if I've read any of them or get ideas for stuff to read. I read this book in high school English for a project over authors. Each person had to pick someone and read like 2 or 3 books they wrote and analyze them in a research paper.. and blah blah blah.. But anyway, I choose Ray Bradbury and Fahrenheit 451 was one of the books I read. It was a great book. I'm not much for getting into reading so I really like it when I find a book I like and enjoy reading. Yay for good books!

09/27/09 Want to hear something ironic? My school banned Farenheit 451. For. . . I'm not sure why. Reply greengrey promoted this comment deeemer was starred deeemer was unstarred NowhereGirl 09/27/09 @deeemer: I had a teacher in junior high that tried to get us to read that. Two days after assigning it though, he took all of the copies back, saying that parents where complaining about the language in it, and objecting to the idea that it promotes breaking the law. A group of parents (my hippy mom among them) stood in the parking lot of a convenience store across the street from the school and handed out free copies to any student that would take one. Because of the controversy of the whole thing, I'm pretty sure that a LOT more students ended up reading the book than just my AP English class. It is ironic, as I'm sure you know if you've read the book, and later in high school we learned that this is actually a pretty common thing in the US, for (IMO) uneducated parents to ban this book about book banning. In hind sight however, I'm kind of glad that it happened, because it really opened my eyes to the idea that the authority figures in your life might not really know what the fuck they're talking about at all, and that it's my own personal responsibility to question that authority and speak up if I don't agree. September- Eh Midway Through

With the first tests over with and a successfull pass on them both school wise that makes class going good. Got more stuff coming up this week as always..

Heading home in five days and I'm so ready for some stew you have no idea!! Megan's birthday is Tuesday and hopefully by then she might have decided to care about it again but whatever. I have no control over her silly thoughts of not liking a birthday right before it comes.

Wish it would all fly by. Don't know what all is to come next but I'm digging the feeling of moving on.

What to Say?

What to say?
What to say now?
What to say now to you?
The words are gone from me.
No place to find them around here.
Good luck Chuck, if you dare to search.
Nothing is waiting for you at the corner.
Just sit back down and say you're sorry.
I left you for a long time now.
You wont find me waiting, no sir.
Look for a new girl to call your friend.
I'm keeping my time away from this end.
End of care? Fate? Hope?
Whatever made this end is done.
So it's time to go on.
I've missed thoughts that made me happy.
I'm off exploring them again.
If we cross paths hello I might say.
Then I will turn and be on my way.
Chapter complete.
Now who will I meet?

The first round and a September preview

The first round of actual tests starts up this week. Hopefully a nice stroak of fate will allow it to all go over smoothely? We'll see about that.

One week til Austin is in the picture, with one of DBU's games (vs. St. Ed's) and then maybe getting to see Liz. Two weeks til the first adventure home. Can't wait for some of Granny-Mo's food. I'm dying for anything she makes. It all sounds wonderful. And while I'm home I'll be doing a bit of thrift store shopping with Cousin It. Not to mention opening back up The Recording Studio for our second session of videos!
